1330 CONNECICUT AVENUE RESTORATION

Location: 1330 Connecticut Avenue NW | Washington, DC

Owner: BP 1330 Connecticut Avenue LLC  General Contractor: Grunley Construction Company

Date of Completion: 03/15/2018

A-1 Nationwide Commercial Flooring completed Finishes-Division 9. Grunley completed 230,000 square foot renovation while the building remained occupied by a law firm tenant. The renovation consisted of exterior façade and site improvements including the complete replacement of strip windows and curtainwall, roof and terrace paver replacement and new exterior landscaping and pavers. 

LAFAYETTE BUILDING- MODERNIZATION

Location: 811 Vermont Avenue, NW | Washington DC

Owner: U.S. General Services Admin

General Contractor: Grunley Construction Company 

Date of Completion: 10/06/2017

A-1 Nationwide Commercial Flooring completed Finishes-Division 9.  Grunley modernized this 565,000 square foot, 12-story federal office building while the facility remained partially occupied. The Lafayette Building is a National Historic Landmark. The modernization provided energy efficient building systems, modern office spaces, window blast screens and a refurbished exterior façade and bronze and steel windows. The project is seeking a Gold rating under the LEED© New Construction and Major Renovations standard.

EISENHOWER EXECUTIVE OFFICE BUILDING- MODERNIZATION

Location: 17th & Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC

Owner: U.S. General Services Admin

General Contractor: Grunley Construction Company 

Date of Completion: 03/02/2007 (phase I) | 03/30/2010 (phase II) | 02/28/2014 (phase III)

A-1 Nationwide Commercial Flooring completed Finishes-Division 9.  The 692,000 square foot building contains mission critical facilities, administrative offices and meeting rooms and ceremonial space for the Offices of the President and Vice President. The projects were each of the three phases of the building's modernization. New 21st century building systems, including modern mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, were installed with minimal impact to the occupied Federal office building. Overall, the EEOB modernization restored and/or provided systems infrastructure enhancements to 28 historic rooms.

"On April 30, 2014 the EEOB modernization project  received a prestigious 

Honor Award in the 2014 GSA Design Awards program"

  • Phase III of the modernization earned LEED NC 2.2 Silver certification. 
  • Subcontractors received a 2012 Craftsmanship Award in the category of "Historic Restoration - Cast Iron Repair and Restoration" from the Washington Building Congress for their work at the EEOB.
